10 MMA stars who ruined their careers with drugs and alcohol

6. Melvin Guillard
Melvin Guillard can detail when was the first time he tried the party lifestyle.
While appearing in the second season of the TUF, Guillard escaped to attend a pool party in Las Vegas, ended up talking with a couple of soccer players who invited him to his suite.
“There were drugs and bitches everywhere,” Guillard said for Bleacher Report in 2015. “They said, ‘It’s yours. Everything you want. Have fun’. This is how it started for me. I had so much fun that first time. “
Guillard was hooked and mixed that precarious lifestyle with the fights, but soon was affected when it became known that he tested positive for cocaine after his defeat by KO in 27 seconds against Joe Stevenson at UFC Fight Night 9 in 2008, doping that ended in an 8-month suspension.
In later years there were moments when it seemed that Guillard directed his life, but he suffered several defeats, he went through problems with the weight cuts, and his behavior in public made it clear that something was not right.
After being released from his contracts by the UFC and the WSOF, Bellator gave a hand to Guillard, but the troubled star again tested positive for cocaine after a fight in the summer of 2016.
Guillard continued down the hill with three losses in 2017, and now also competes in clean fist boxing matches.
