Royal Rumble Match Notes
- Triple H won! He celebrated afterwards with his wife and father-in-law because he’s super evil…or something? He last eliminated Dean Ambrose.
- Roman entered at #1 but was out for a good, long time due to an attack by the League of Nations.
- Brock Lesnar was eliminated after being ganged up on by the Wyatt Family. Look for him to feud with them heading into WrestleMania.
- AJ Styles made his long-rumored “surprise” debut at the Rumble! He entered at #3 and lasted over 25 minutes. He was eventually eliminated by Kevin Owens.
- Kevin Owens was eliminated by ACTUAL surprise entrant Sami Zayn. Zayn isn’t going to be around for long, though, as he’s likely to continue feuding with Samoa Joe and/or Finn Balor through April.
- The longest-lasting entrant was Chris Jericho, who was in the match for a hair over 50 minutes. Not bad for a 45 year-old!
