We Have a New United States Champion! For the Third Time This Month!
After two matches defined by predictable wrestlers hitting predictable spots, the WWE threw us a curveball by having Alberto Del Dio and Kalisto deny every single signature spot. Kalisto’s springboard spinning crossbody? Del Rio swats him out of the air. Del Rio goes for his corner stomp? Kalisto rolls out of it. The match, as you probably noticed, ended with a win for Kalisto after hitting a Salida Del Sol and rolling up Del Rio. A surprising change, honestly, but it’s tough to call if the WWE wants to free up Del Rio for the main event picture or if they’re just done having the United States Championship be a big deal.
Charlotte Is a No Good Dirty Cheat
So Ric Flair kissed Becky Lynch during this match! That’s just kind of gross! Other than that, this was pretty fun. While Charlotte is still fairly sloppy in the ring and Becky doesn’t wrestle stiff enough, they put on a reasonably entertaining match that ended in the 100% expected distraction roll-up by Charlotte. After the match, Sasha Banks came out and roughed up Charlotte, likely setting up a feud that will roll into WrestleMania.
