Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto for the United States Championship
Kalisto beat Del Rio in shocking fashion on Monday Night RAW last week only to give the title back less than 24 hours later (three days in kayfabe) on SmackDown. This hurried-along feud will most likely get wrapped up at the Royal Rumble.
This is actually the toughest match to pick on the card. The WWE has been giving Kalisto some big wins over recent months in singles competition, most notably beating Ryback in the Survivor Series World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. That said, there’s no question that Del Rio is the bigger name, and one of the few credible heels on the roster at this time. Gun to my head, I’m picking Kalisto to take this and carry the title into WrestleMania.

Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Matches like this are what originally made Kevin Steen/Owens a big name in professional wrestling. Owen’s hard-hitting style, diverse moveset and loads of experience in extreme-style matches make this a treat…or it would, if the result wasn’t so painfully obvious.
This match is nothing more than a means of building up Dean Ambrose as Intercontinental Champion. While WWE has turned Owens around from being a generic heel to once again being an absolute monster, there’s no doubt that he’s going to be a stepping stone for Dean Ambrose. Sad…but true.
