No more Brock Lesnar, Daniel Cormier will fight in a rematch against his nemesis Stipe Miocic. The rematch will happen @UFC 241. DC second heavyweight title defense will be the rematch against Stipe Miocic. It will be the main card for UFC 241, set to take place on August 17 in Anaheim, California. This information was confirmed by the UFC itself through their social networks late Saturday night.

There was the expectation that Daniel Cormier would fight against Brock Lesnar however now that Lesnar has announced his retirment from MMA last week, the UFC scrambled to put the former champion Miocic to try to regain his title.

The two athletes met for the first time at UFC 236 in July 2018. On the occasion, Cormier, who the light heavyweight champion 205lb, Gained weight to 252 lb to challenge Miocic. Daniel Cormier knocked out the rival in the first round and joined Conor McGregor, as the only man to have two simultaneous belts in the UFC – Amanda Nunes also got that done in the women division.

Cormier, 40, will make his second heavyweight title defense. DC, which has a record of 22 wins, one defeat and one fight without result, comes from triumph in its last performance. The American finished Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 in November 2018.

In turn, first in the heavyweight ranking, has a cartel of 18 wins and three losses. The American of Croatian descent will make his first fight since losing the reign in the division to Cormier.
