Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose

Here is where the new champ was crowned. Ambrose and Owens had a back-and-forth match that saw both men hit their signature spots (except no Go Home Driver or Package (Pile)Driver from Owens) but the match ended with a series of reversals of the Pop-up Powerbomb with Ambrose eventually countering it with Dirty Deeds. Owens is one of the best workers in the company, which makes it beyond sad that he probably won’t ever get a serious run in the company.

Charlotte vs. Paige

This is probably the best match of either woman’s WWE career (not counting their NXT careers, mind you). Charlotte officially cemented herself as a complete, full, 100% heel and actually executed a perfect Flair Flop. Unfortunately, the ending stunk. Ric pulled the padding off one of the turnbuckles and Charlotte swept Paige into it to set up a pinfall.

Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

This was a terrifying match in terms of how brutal it was. There were numerous insane spots including finishers through tables and every manner of chair shot. The crowd was not at all behind Roman Reigns, booing him every time he made the climb towards the belt. Sheamus won after some interference by Alberto Del Rio and Rusev (Wade Barrett was conspicuously absent).

The most interesting part came after, though. After losing the match, Reigns ran into the cage, speared Rusev and Del Rio, then beat the hell out of all three with a chair. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon then entered the ring to try and cool things off but Reigns ended up going nuts and beating the hell out of him for 10 minutes. It will be fun to see what ends up happening with Roman from here.
