Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship

Kevin Owens surprisingly won the Intercontinental title on Monday Night RAW by pinning Tyler Breeze in a five-man match. His first opponent is the man who has beaten him twice over the last two weeks, Dolph Ziggler.

Owens still seems to be trapped in the middle of a power struggle between WWE decision makers as he wildly slingshots between being one of the roughest, toughest wrestlers on the roster and a straight-up jobber.  Ziggler, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have anybody on his side. Owens will likely hold onto the title until WrestleMania, where he will probably face Dean Ambrose in a rematch (which he’ll lose).

Charlotte vs. Brie Bella for the Divas Championship

Brie Bella earned a sudden, random title shot by beating Charlotte on RAW a couple weeks back but that comes amid a load of speculation that she will follow her husband, Daniel Bryan, into retirement. Brie’s wrestling days have felt numbered for a good, long time now due to her “I want to have babies” storyline on Total Divas and while the reality series isn’t an accurate representation of reality, all the rumors have pointed to them being true.

While there was initially some fan speculation that the WWE may have been looking to give Brie a feel-good win with her husband’s super-sad retirement and her sister currently recovering from neck surgery, the renewed discussion about her retirement shuts the door on that. Expect Charlotte to beat Brie, probably with some help from Ric.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose for the Top Contendership to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The WWE remains terrified of the idea of putting Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar into a ring together without anything to deflect the boos away from Reigns, and that has resulted in a very strange build for Fastlane. First, it has put all of the focus the Ambrose vs. Lesnar dynamic which, quite frankly, is way more interesting than anything involving Reigns. Second, the storyline angle has been an endless stream of “will the Ambrose-Reigns bromance be destroyed by this match?” which has been emphatically answered with a “no” each time.

Either way, all the rumors and all the talk have suggested that the plan is that Reigns will win, face Triple H at WrestleMania 32, take the title and get the coronation WWE was planning to give him last year. That plan is subject to change, and very easily could, given how lusty booing is once again becoming the norm for Reigns, but that plan probably won’t change until April.
