Belfort isn’t hurting financially. Did he take a massive paycut due to the unfair UFC fighter pay practices? Absolutely. But there are UFC fighters that are actually losing money on a per-fight basis (read this intense breakdown on the economics of being a UFC fighter) and, if anything, Belfort needs to publicly take the UFC to task for this, not panhandle to fans.
He’s set to fight at UFC 198 against Jacare Souza. If he wins, one has to wonder if he’ll take this wackiness to the microphone.
