Vince McMahon Wanted a Real Fight with Dana White at WrestleMania

Obviously, Lesnar would return to MMA after suffering a diverticulitis attack that kept him out of the cage for a long time. He would return to MMA in December 2011 to face Alistair Overeem, losing by TKO.

BEEF.

BEEF.

WrestleMania 27, meanwhile, turned out to be one of the worst in the show’s history. The Miz vs. John Cena would serve as the show’s headline and wound up being a terrible, over-booked match that ended with interference by The Rock to set up Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28. The Undertaker, instead of Lesnar, would face Triple H in a No Disqualifications match.  The rest of the card…well, it sucked.

Of course, everything has shaken out alright since. Lesnar is the hottest act in the WWE today and has been involved in some of the most entertaining matches of the modern era and the UFC has recovered from the loss of Lesnar.

It’s funny to think, though, that we almost had a 65 year-old Vince McMahon fight a 41 year-old Dana White in the main event of WrestleMania. How would that have gone?
