UFC Fighter Rodrigo de Lima Murdered by an Uber Driver

Former UFC fighter Rodrigo de Lima has been murdered late Sunday evening by an Uber driver in the city of Belem, Brazil. Lima met his death when he was involved in a hit and run incident following an argument with the Uber driver. At present we do have details as to what the argument between the Lima and the Uber driver was about. Uber has yet to release an official statement.




A longtime friend of Lima, Michal Prazeres UFC welterweight spoke to MMA fighting about this friend and teammate “Monstro” detailing the final moments of Rodrigo life, he said the 28-year old fighter was a passenger along with some friends of the Uber however he started arguing with the driver.

The driver allegedly stopped the car and they got into an altercation, Prazeres said, the driver then drove away then turn the vehicle around and drove towards Lima hitting him from behind killing Lima who was married with two children.

Poice is currently searching for the driver, several local newspapers also confirm Prazeres account of what happened.

”Monstro” (9-3-1) has fought two times under the UFC first in 2014 then again in 2015 where he lost to Neil Magny and Efrain Escudero respectively. The former Jungle Fight welterweight champion fought his last match in June 2018, where he won by submission of Luiz Fabiano in the co-main event of Shooto Brazil 85.
