Mystic Mac Conor “Notorious” McGregor called it. He said he’d finish the fight within one round, he said Jose would overreact and he would catch him. His predictions proved to be correct once again when he stopped Aldo with a blistering counterpunch that left “Scarface” asleep on the canvas with a busted nose just thirteen seconds into round number one.
The quick finish was exhilarating but a bit disappointing for fans who were hoping to see a longer contest. Interestingly enough one of the most powerful highlights that emerged from the night’s footage was the powerful reactions from the fighters cornerman. You can really see the pain in Aldo’s corner, it hit them right in the heart.
