Every match with Mayorga is a grudge match and he has gotten a rise out of almost all his opponents, with his most notable rival being the legendary Oscar De La Hoya. During the build-up to their fight, Mayorga took swipes at De La Hoya’s wife and even his son, but would wind up losing via TKO in a fairly lopsided fight.
Still, Mayorga’s ability to generate heat and headlines makes him a compelling fighter. Even his 0-3 (1) MMA career was made memorable by some crazy incidents with Din Thomas.
