If losing your first fight in the ONE Championship ring was bad, having to spend nine hours in the operating room should be even worse.
Sage Northcutt, who was one of the great promises of the UFC, made his expected debut with the Asian promotion last Friday during the ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon, and was brutally knocked out by the 37-year-old veteran, Alexandre Cosmo, in just 29 seconds.
Now, the condition of Northcutt was not known until 17 hours ago, when the member of Team Alpha MMA shared two photos in his social networks, one from his hospital bed and the other from an X-ray, announced that he had suffered eight fractures in his face.
“Fresh out of surgery…I had 8 fractures and a nine-hour intense operation. Feeling blessed for the amazing care and all the support from @onechampionship, my family/friends and fans! My Terminator face is not too Shabby.. 💀“I’ll be back!” Next post is catheter removal😳…stay tuned-JK 😎
Northcutt is not the only ex-UFC to be hospitalized recently in his debut with ONE. Two months ago, Eddie Álvarez fell to Timofey Nastyukhin and suffered the breakage of one of his eyelids. See video on the next page
