The big thing for Diaz is that he’s strictly looking for money fights. He’s probably not necessarily interested in taking a fight against a Rory MacDonald to get back into title contention or something that provides him with a long-term direction. He wants a big fight with a big name.
I wouldn’t mind seeing this again…
The good thing is that there are a few options for him. The biggest? A UFC welterweight title fight with Robbie Lawler. Diaz beat Lawler once before, and there are no big names and no especially great contenders available at 170-pounds right now. Diaz actually has a strong claim to a title fight, and that feels like a fight that the UFC could give him.

The other big one is a rematch with Georges St-Pierre. The writing is on the wall that GSP will be coming back and a rematch with Diaz could be big money.
