The New Day would become contenders for the tag team titles after the first Fastlane pay-per-view event, and challenged for the titles in a Fatal Four-Way tag team match at WrestleMania.
While they wouldn’t succeed in winning the belts, with Cesaro and Tyson Kidd successfully defending their titles, they went on to feud with the champs directly, and it was during this time that New Day would start turning heel. They would win the titles at Extreme Rules 2015, and would become full-fledged villains the next month at Payback by retaining the titles with Woods and Kingston performing twin magic (more or less) to score the winning pinfall.
They would lose the titles two months later at Money in the Bank, dropping them to the Prime Time Players, but managed to regain them not long after at SummerSlam.
It was at SummerSlam that the New Day became the team fans know and love (or loathe) today, as they incorporated dancing, twerking, gyrating and over-the-top celebrations into their routine.
