Kimbo Slice Gets Surprise Opponent for Next Fight in Bellator
The news of Slice vs. Dada 5000 is a surprise. The rumor entering the night was that Slice was going to face the winner of Bellator 145’s heavyweight fight between James Thompson vs. Bobby Lashley.
That match would have actually made sense on multiple levels, as Slice faced Thompson back in EliteXC, with the fight ending in controversial fashion due to a questionable knockout call by the ref. Lashley meanwhile has long been a star in the making for Bellator, but hasn’t been able to get very over with fans despite solid wins in the Bellator cage.
That said, Slice vs. Dada 5000 is a guaranteed slobberknocker, which fits perfectly into Bellator’s plans for the card. It will be interesting to see how they approach this event, and who else the book on the card.
