“They gave me very specific instructions,” Nurmagomedov manager Ali Abdelaziz told ESPN.com. “He wants to fight on September 7 and again in December. He also wants to face Georges St-Pierre. That fight could be in April.”
Okamoto stressed that St-Pierre, announced his retirement in December, but he wanted to fight against Khabib in his retirement fight. Although he indicated that the UFC did not want the fight to happen, his manager said it is still a possibility.
St-Pierre is a legend, and a fight with Nurmagomedov would create many expectations among fans.
Khabib , beat Conor McGregor at UFC 229 . Abdelaziz said the Irishman has a lot to prove if he wants to be considered for a rematch.
“Being honest, Conor would have to go and fight with someone like Justin Gaethje, Tony Ferguson or Donald Cerrone .” He replied. “He is not a sufficiently valuable opponent at that time. It’s what we feel like a team.”
