Now fast forward to a recent press conference where Fedor spoke to the abilities of Ronda Rousey, which must be upsetting for Ronda to hear since she’s professed her love for Fedor many times, going as far as to say that she wants to have his babies…
In a recent press conference in Russia, here’s what Fedor said about Rowdy Ronda Rousey:
“To date, [Rousey] stands out as number one in the world rankings but I do not like that she misses a lot of punches, which leads to painful reception. I do not advocate such tactics, especially for women.”
He wants her to get hit less, and to hit her opponents more often. It’s good advice for any fighter, but seems like strange criticism when you’re talking about such a dominant champion who walks away from all of her fights without ever looking like she was in a fight.
Fedor is in negotiations with the UFC. Hopefully he hits his opponents often and doesn’t get hit much.
Ronda Rousey’s toughest critics are still her mother and herself. After her victory over Bethe, Ronda said “I know I made a couple of mistakes,” and after all of her fights her mom never seems too impressed, but that’s just the world champion work ethic shining through.
