President of the UFC , Dana White , tried to answer how the UFC was punishing Conor McGregor for the events of Bellator 187 , where he slapped and shoved a referee. In a questioning session for the Ultimate Fighter 26 final , White referred to McGregor’s alleged suspension that would have taken him out of a planned bout for UFC 219 , however, he revealed the truth that McGregor simply would not be ready for that date.

“Listen, the punishment, it was being imposed by the head of the Association of Boxing Commissions, and we were going to refute it, regardless of what McGregor manager Audie Attar said,” White said. “We were working on a fight for him at the end of the year, and he just is not ready.”

Then, White repeated what he once said after the fight McGregor vs. Mayweather, who did not even know if “The Notorious” will fight again.

“Fighting is the worst,” continued White (transcribed by MMA Junkie and Andrew Pearson of MMA Mania).  “Try to get up and go get a punch in the face every day [after that] you have 100 million dollars in the bank . You know? Money changes everything. We’ll see”.

” Every time you talk to Conor, you do not know … who knows? It’s a … It’s a unique individual. I love the guy, I love the guy. I think it’s fun, definitely … when you look at all the money that Conor has made … there are guys who always complain about money, I should have more money. Conor can not receive enough money. Conor is worth every penny and more. “
