McGregor and Dos Anjos are both stoked about this fight. McGregor becoming the first person to ever hold two UFC titles would be legendary. Dos Anjos, meanwhile, gets what will likely be a massive fight on pay-per-view after spending most of his time on UFC on Fox events.

They’re just about the only people happy about this, though. The fight leaves every other contender at both featherweight and lightweight waiting to see what happens. Frankie Edgar? Max Holloway? Anthony Pettis? All sitting on their hands.

Of course, if Conor vs. Dos Anjos ends up being a particularly brutal fight where both men get injured, there’s a very real chance that both titles will be put on the shelf for an extended period of time. While the short-term outlook for this fight is awesome, the long term? Not so much.
