In a recent interview, Jon Jones stated that it’s the UFC that made Conor McGregor, but that sometimes it seems like fame gets to Conor’s head and he forgets who he has to thank. It was the UFC who gave him the platform that he used to become a massive star all around the world, and Jones thinks Conor needs to remember that.

“The UFC created Conor McGregor. [But] Sometimes it seems that he forgets that.” – Jon Jones, the company man who will be headlining UFC 200 after Conor was booted from the card.

Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the most popular fighters in UFC. Not everybody is a huge McGregor fan, but he’s still one of the biggest names ever to fight. No matter which side you’re on, Jon Jones thinks Conor McGregor owes his success to the UFC.

Who is really responsible for Conor’s success wit the fans and sold out events? Conor has done very well for himself and UFC as a whole. His wealth is just one of the many factors of his success. Conor McGregor is one of those fighters who seems to fight for the love of the sport and not just the bucks, despite the fact that his persona revolves almost entirely around money.

Jon Jones: “The UFC created Conor McGregor. Sometimes it seems that he forgets that. But it is a great talent and we’re glad to have him doing part of our sport. It attracts a lot of attention and more recognition. And at the end of the day when he wins, we all win. So I’m grateful for it. “

Jon Jones gives Conor props for his accomplishments, and probabally wishes McGregor was still fighting on UFC 200 because everyone with PPV points would get a noticeable boost to their earnings. Ultimately, the UFC probabally makes even more money by having a stacked UFC 200 and by having McGregor fight Diaz just a couple months later on their own card.
