There’s also a really flamboyant dude sitting at the end of the field, a referee, and a few linesmen.
The Judge Commissioner doesn’t step foot on the field, and the referee only steps foot on the field when absolutely necessary. Otherwise, the guys are pretty much left up to their own brutal devices.

Each match lasts 50 minutes, and when you’ve got dozens of aggressive beastly guys on the field in the hot sun, and in the heat of competition, obviously things are going to veer off track every now and then.
The matches take place inside of a giant sandbox with a big white line dividing two huge squares, and there’s a net on each end that’s the entire length of that side of the field.
The match starts when a ball is tossed into the middle, a cannon is fired, and then it’s on.
Players rush to capture the ball and get it into the other team’s goal area.
This is where the violence really comes into play.
If a guy can’t walk, he’s going to have a hard time carrying the ball.
When you have the ball, you’ve got 27 freaks coming at you full force, with a green light to choke, elbow, kick, and punch you until they’re able to get the ball away from you then the entire process repeats itself.
