Even though there are some credible names that could face off with Pettis in the Octagon one name the regardless of how his find end tomorrow night is his teammate Ben Askren not only because they train together, but because Askren current is at a high level.

“He’s a monster. Ben is one of those guys that when I was at 55, he was the one getting me ready for Ben Henderson, all the guys in that run I went on, Ben was one of my main training partners,” he added. “He’s the guy that you can never count out. I spin back kicked him one time right on the chin. And I could tell he was hurt, but he double legs me, gets on top and just starts grinding me out. He is really a tough, deep down guys.”

“I would never fight with Ben Askren, it would save me the shame,” Pettis said in a conversation with the press. “He is a jo– monster. The kind of person, who can never be discarded. I kicked him once, right on his chin, I realized he was hurt, he took me to the canvas, he mounted me and started attacking me. He is a hard athlete. He is really good.

Of course, fights between teammates would not even have to happen. Currently, Kamaru Usman is the current welterweight champion, which means there would be no conflict if he performs well in his new division.

“Well, none of them is a champion,” said Pettis. “So there are ways to get to that belt. And my name, and where I am, a great victory, I think I’m ready for that belt. First, I have to go through Thompson. It’s a big risk, climb up to fight with the third in the world, it’s not an easy task. But I feel incredible. ”

UFC Nashville will take place tomorrow at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
