7 Toughest Fighters in UFC History

MMA

Toughness is necessary to be a fighter, but not all mixed martial artists are made equal in the UFC. Some folks have the steeliness to push through hardships in and out of the cage, and some tend to crack under pressure.

But who are the toughest fighters in UFC history? Let us show you.

Roy Nelson

Anyone that has seen Roy Nelson fight over the last few years knows why he’s on this list. He has one of the hardest chins in UFC history, and has absorbed an amount of punishment that would have killed a lesser man several times over. He actually owns the record for “most significant strikes absorbed in UFC history” and when one considers that he’s a heavyweight in there with fighters like Junior dos Santos, Stipe Miocic, Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem…that’s quite the feat!

BJ Penn

When it comes to confidence, few are more self-assured than BJ Penn. He believes there isn’t a man alive he can’t beat and, right or wrong, there’s something admirable about that. He spent much of his career fighting above his natural weight class (competing at welterweight when he should have been at lightweight) and actually once pushed to fight Tim Sylvia for the UFC heavyweight championship! Add in the fact that he fought on against the likes of Rory MacDonald and Nick Diaz and you’ve got one of the toughest dudes around.
