Chael Sonnen’s Racist Stories About Brazilians
At the time, it just kind of felt ridiculous. Looking back on it…wow, that stuff Chael Sonnen said about Brazilians was SUPER DUPER racist.
Who could forget his story about seeing the Nogueira brothers trying to feed a carrot to a bus because they thought it was a horse? And how he defended that anecdote by saying he didn’t think Brazilian MMA fans would be offended because he didn’t think they actually had computers in Brazil. Oh, and there was this tweet (preserved by BloodyElbow.com):
Is/was Sonnen actually a racist? Probably not. He actually became a huge babyface in Brazil when he coached on TUF: Brazil 3. Still, this was some seriously across-the-line stuff!
