Ladies and gentlemen, the career of MMA legend Nick Diaz is likely over. This comes following a Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing on Monday to discuss UFC 183 post-fight drug test failure. After multiple months-long delays to the hearing and an odd, testy meeting, the Stockton-based fighter was hammered with a whopping five-year ban from the sport and a $165,000 fine.

Diaz was tested three times following his bout with Anderson Silva within a four-hour stretch. The first and third tests came back within the legal limits for marijuana, while the second test came in well above the failure threshold.
The NSAC decision was largely unsurprising, given their history with Diaz and their consistent refusal to reverse decisions. That said, the ban was absolutely slammed on social media by fans, pundits and fighters alike.
