The sense of camaraderie that you develop after fighting somebody, the mutual respect, is unparalleled. One of the guys in the documentary “Uppercut” from the previous page describes the type of bond that’s formed through combat:
“If I fight a guy three times, I’ll help him move,”
After 5 fights, he’ll let the guy date his sister. You don’t even want to know what happens after 10 fights.
Injuries are part of the game, but they’re not trying to kill each other either. Mostly bumps and bruises.
