Many of these names are probably unfamiliar to casual fans. Hardcores will probably be bummed out, though:
- Jared Rosholt
- KJ Noons
- Daniel Sarafian
- Rafael Cavalcante
- Edgar Garcia
- Joe Riggs
- Mike Jackson
- Jonavin Webb
- Justin Salas
Riggs is a respected veteran from the UFC’s Silver Age that got brought back last year but clearly struggled. KJ Noons is a fighter known for his intense brawls in Strikeforce and EliteXC, but has gone 2-3 (1) in the UFC. The biggest surprise is Jared Rosholt, a highly successful heavyweight that got booted with a 6-2 UFC record. One has to feel for Mike Jackson, who was brought in to do the job for CM Punk’s opponent, Mickey Gall. And of course, former Strikeforce champ Rafael Feijao is gone after a prolonged stretch of futility.
With the exception of Rosholt, none of these are a huge surprise. Still, sad stuff and we hope that these folks can get their career right back on track.
