This tree-carrying record was just a fabled myth passed down from generation to generation, until Hafthór crushed it. The legend says there was a man named Ormur Stórólfsson who walked three steps with a giant 650kg log on his back before his back broke from the pressure and ruined him. They said it took 50 mortal men to place the log on his back. Now, look at how many steps The Mountain is able to take and be in awe.
The previous record was just a piece of Icelandic Viking lore, but after Hafthór picked up this massive log and carried it for five steps, he turned a myth into reality.
The next time you’re feeling strong, just remember that there’s an actor out there who plays a character called The Mountain, but he’s even stronger in real life.
