Reigns, for some reason, speared Triple H hard. Kind of a strange way to kick off a babyface title reign, but instant karma came in the form of a Sheamus cash-in of the Money in the Bank contract. Sheamus brogue kicked Reigns and whomped him with the briefcase before handing it over to the ref.
Reigns kicked out, but he would eat another finisher and, this time, couldn’t muster up a kickout. Sheamus would take the belt and Reigns would literally be left to cry in the ring.
CRY ROMAN CRY!
It’s a clear move by the WWE to build sympathy for the man they want the fans to love…but whether or not it will actually happen remains to be seen. Either way, Sheamus’ third title reign is upon us. It will be fun to see how the fans will react to this, and if their hatred of Reigns will prove to be greater than their hatred of Sheamus.
