The other day, we shared a clip of Chuck Norris talking about Bruce Lee’s tragic death, and dispelling some of the old rumors about how Bruce Lee died. While we often celebrate modern MMA, it’s almost important to remember the roots, the people who inspired a lot of today’s top fighters to pick up gloves and learn some moves in the first place. We’re still in an era where some of the fighters today were the trail blazers for the sport of mixed martial arts, they didn’t all have other MMA fighters to look up to when they were young, they looked up to movie stars and other famous martial artists.
Chuck Norris and JCVD are two guys who were at this decades before the term “Mixed martial arts” even existed, and they deserve props, so we’re going to continue our legends series for as long as people are interested and sharing the articles.
This clip comes from a German television special that was broadcast in 1984, and shows Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme hitting some pads, and just having some fun.
