So this may come as a shock but that entire thing was staged by Barnett and one of his training partners. You see, Barnett is actually a fairly accomplished professional wrestler, and spent a fair bit of time in the wrestling ring during his years as a mixed martial artist in Japan. He has wrestled names like Bobby Lashley and Yuji Nagata over the years and most has also been working as a color commentator for AXS TV’s broadcasts of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Yes, that’s Barnett kicking Bobby Lashley.
You may also notice Barnett repping Sengoku, one of the Japanese promotions he used to fight for, on his gloves during the open workouts. That’s pretty fun.
Either way, Barnett will be in a real fight this Saturday against Ben Rothwell at UFC on Fox 18. That should be a darn good one.
