Joe Rogan Says This Olympic Wrestler Will Dominate UFC Heavyweight Division

Articles

Bilyal Makhov is a 6 foot 5 Russian who tips the scales at 300lbs. He’s just a freak of a man. He’s going to look like a monster out there compared to a lot of the current heavyweights, and let’s not forget that Olympic wrestlers are basically the masters of cutting weight, so he’s just going to be gigantic. This guy could be the next Brock Lesnar. He’s got the wrestling pedigree, world class, but his striking and the rest of his game could use some work, naturally.

Still, with a freak athlete like this, it’s not going to be too hard to teach the guy to throw a punch. Good luck taking him down, and good luck if he gets you down to the ground.

This MMA talk is nothing new, either. He’s been in talks with the UFC for about a year now, and seems to have the right perspective.

“To conquer this new mountain called UFC will give me new emotions, new feelings, new challenges – kind of like a rebirth and start everything from zero,” Makhov said.

“Yes, I know there’s some technical aspects of this game that I need to work on – my striking, and I’m working on that with my coach.

“I’m going to take this very professionally. I’m not just going to go like ‘whatever.’ I’m (approaching) this very professionally. It’s just a matter of time. My base is wrestling, I have that already, so the rest I’m just going to work hard to get where it needs to be to be up to the level.”

Can you imagine an elite, world-class wrestler who is absolutly massive, then going on to work with some high-level striking coaches? He’ll be unstopped. RIP Heavyweight division.
