May is a historic month for Jessica Andrade. The Brazilian became the strawweight champion at UFC 237. But the month ends with a bitter moment for her. The champion with her wife were the victim of an assault on Niteroi in Rio de Janeiro.
In a post on Facebook, her wife recounted the fact. She and Jessica were in their car, a Honda HRV, with a license plate from the city of Belo Horizonte, when they were stopped at gunpoint by a group of bandits.
The thieves took documents, cell phones, and the car. At the moment the car has not been found. In conversation with On The Road Management, they explained that both, despite the scare, are fine.
Jessica Andrade made history this month by knocking out Rose Namajunas at UFC 237. The Paraná native became the first athlete in her city to be a UFC champion.
