Find Out Why Things Got Really Heated When This Fighter Threw a Purse At His Opponent

MMA

At face value, this is quite a strange scene but put in context, it makes perfect sense.

Back in 2013, Reza Madadi was one of the hottest prospects in the UFC. In spite of a ho-hum showing early in his UFC career, the adopted Swede’s BJJ skills were advancing at an incredible rate, and his win over Michael Johnson set him up to potentially break into the top-10.

Unfortunately, those strides were for naught. Madadi would wind up stuck with a burglary conviction for a break-in at a boutique where over $100,000 in designer purses were stolen. Madadi would be sentenced to jail, which resulted in him being cut from the UFC, and being stuck behind bars during the birth of his first child. The UFC would immediately re-sign him after he served his time, but two years in the clink for a crime he says he didn’t commit doesn’t sit well with him. Neither does Parke taunting him for it.

While Parke is taunting him and looking tough at the weigh-ins with Dana White blocking for him, let’s not forget that this is the guy that cried like a baby on TUF: The Smashes when he was caught using a cell phone in the house.

Such a tough guy.

Such a tough guy.

We’ll see how this pans out in the cage. In all likelihood, though, Parke will be able to score what is becoming a signature boring, clinch-filled win.
