Nick Diaz Award for Most Obvious Drug Test Failure: Nick Diaz Tests Positive for Weed…Again
There have been plenty of guys popped for steroids and HGH and this and that…but the most obvious drug test failure of 2016 was Nick Diaz getting popped for weed…again. Heck, that’s the name of the award! While Diaz is an awesome character and an entertaining fighter, there is an 85% chance of him getting popped for weed after any given fight. Yeah, a lot of buff dudes got caught with PEDs, but nothing is less surprising than finding out that Nick Diaz smokes weed.
Honorable Mention: Mirko Cro Cop Suspended Due to HGH
Fedor Emelianenko Award for Best Fighter: Conor McGregor
Conor went 3-0 in 2015. Not only did he go 3-0, but he knocked out a top-10 Dennis Siver, top-3 Chad Mendes and top-3 pound-for-pound talent in Jose Aldo. What a year for Conor.
