Ex-WWE Commentator Says Rousey vs. Holm was Fixed

So, starting from the top, it’s absolutely ludicrous to say having Rousey as champion, under any circumstances is bad for business. Rousey was appearing on Ellen and Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America and every other mainstream talk show. She carried pay-per-view cards in a way that not even Georges St-Pierre could. The UFC is worse off without her as champion from both a publicity and a financial standpoint.

Ronda Rousey on Ellen. She's the only fighter ever to appear on Ellen, btw.

Secondly…how could that knockout have been scripted? Ronda Rousey has been tailed by media non-stop for the last few months in a way that we’ve been able to see her every second of every day. There’s no way Holm and Rousey would’ve been able to rehearse that, and if they could pull off a sequence that convincing, the WWE is doing its fans a disservice by not signing both of them.

TOTALLY FIXED!

And of course, we’ve seen plenty of fixed fights in MMA. The 1990s tournament era of the UFC had more than a few and they don’t traditionally involve somebody getting absolutely hammered upside the head, and then getting repeatedly punched in the face while unconscious.

So yeah, Taz is silly, and Rousey vs. Holm definitely wasn’t a work.
