Unfortunately, Ortiz’s days as a fighter may be done. Ortiz has fought with Bellator three times (beating Alexander Shlemenko and Stephan Bonnar, but losing to Liam McGeary), and many veteran fighter contracts are for a mere three fights. He recently underwent neck surgery and is currently going through physical therapy and has been chronicling it on social media (you can follow him on Instagram @Titoortiz1999 and Twitter @titoortiz).
There’s no question that Bellator would love to have Tito back for more…but it’s not clear if he’ll be able to, or if he necessarily wants to. Let’s all hope that he does what’s best for himself, regardless of what that may be.
