Conor McGregor Wins Decision over Nate Diaz With Broken Foot, Rematch At 155 Pounds

Articles

Conor McGregor was landing a lot of leg kicks early, and started bruising up Nate’s leg. Nate started to check some of the kicks, and that’s allegedly when Conor broke his foot, but did a great job of hiding it. It’s like when Conor suffered a terribly knee injury against Max Holloway, and just seemed to carry on and take it in stride. Conor is as tough as they come, and he had to dig DEEP to edge out the victory against Nate.

The judges gave the W to Conor McGregor, but the initial reaction from fans is mixed. It was a close fight. Nate said that he had an even worse training camp than the first time these two met on short notice, so he was in even worse shape than the first time around, and he even taunted Conor for not being able to finish him.

Both fighters want a rematch, can you blame them? But this time around, Conor wants the rematch at 155lbs. Can you imagine Jose Aldo sitting at home watching that, as he continues to wait patiently to avenge the most devastating loss of his entire career, when Conor knocked him out cold in a mere 13 seconds?

It sounds like everyone is on board to make this a trilogy, however Dana White has previously said that Conor’s next fight is going to be at 145, win or lose… But after such a close rematch, who on this planet doesn’t want to see it one more time? There’s too much animosity to settle it with a decision victory, this is the type of rivalry that needs to end in a finish.

No matter what, both fighters got paid, and that’s always good.
