Cerrone Subtly Hints at Diaz Rematch

Featured

Donald Cerrone still says he wants 6 fights in a year, and very subtly called out Nate Diaz at the UFC on Fox 11 post-fight press conference last Saturday night. If you weren’t paying attention, you probabally missed it. Here’s the quote from the presser after a reporter asked Cowboy what’s next.

“Any fight, I’m ready for Baltimore next weekend if that’s a possibility. Really, as many fights as I can. I hear guys talking about how they don’t get paid enough. Sign on the dotted line, I’ll be your Huckleberry.”

This might be a subtle jab at a rematch with Nate Diaz who is very vocal about no longer being happy with the contract that he signed. Or is that just reading into it too much? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

Cowboy had a rough start on his most recent fight against Edson Barboza, but ended it with a perfect jab that opened up a rear naked choke. Cerrone was picked apart in his first fight against Nate Diaz, but Cowboy has been looking really good lately. It would be interesting to compare how both fighters have changed this their first match, and I have a feeling it would be a lot more competitive this time around.

How do you think Cerrone would fare against Nate Diaz if the two were to tangle once again? Nate has said many times he doesn’t want to fight unless he’s able to renegotiate and get paid more, but a fight against Cowboy gives you pretty good odds at getting a bonus…
