Anderson Silva Loses to Michael Bisping in Controversial Fashion at UFC Fight Night 84

The first two rounds were, for the most part, vintage Anderson Silva. He danced, he counterpunched, he landed big shots. Both rounds, however, saw him control the action early on before Bisping knocked him down.

Things swung around in a big way in Round 3, though, when Silva capped the round with a brutal flying knee that knocked out Bisping. The knee was literally landed in the final second of the round and Silva actually thought he won the fight when the ref separated them, with him celebrating in the middle of the cage. Remarkably, Bisping battled back and took the fourth round. The fifth round, though, was all Silva, as he pressed the action and landed some hard kicks and punches.

When all was said and done, Bisping would get the 48-47 unanimous decision. Bisping was overjoyed with the win, while Silva voiced his frustration after. Dana White, after the fight, would say that he scored the fight in Silva’s favor, and criticized him for not doing more to finish the fight after landing the knee.

What does all this mean for Silva? Will we see him in the cage again? and could he compete with top guys? Find out on the next page.
