American Hero Kurt Angle Fractured Two Vertebrae In The 1996 Olympic Trials, Still Went On To Win Gold In Wrestling
Amidst a legendary pro wrestling career, Kurt Angle was still pining to taste real competition again so in 2011 he announced that he was going to return to his amateur wrestling roots to make another campaign for gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This time, however, an injury got the better of Kurt’s aging body when he was unable to make it to the trials due to a knee injury.
It’s tough to say how well he would have done at the Olympics during his 40s, but you never know!
