Since long before the UFC, people have been fascinated with seeing how traditional martial arts match up with modern combat styles, and there isn’t a better example of that than a Shaolin Monk taking on a Marine in a fight.
The American fighter is named Shea Ealey, and his Shaolin opponent is named Yi Long. Neither of these guys are scrubs, Ealey has strong records in muay thai, amateur MMA, and submission grappling with a Pan Am gold medal under his belt. Long fought Buakaw this past summer, and it was a close fight that had Buakaw winning on points.
