Hard times have fallen upon Mr. and Mrs. Belfort due to the UFC’s garbage deal with Reebok.

According to Prado, who spoke with ESPN Brazil, Belfort has lost “millions of dollars” due to the Reebok deal and, at this point, is making so little money from actually fighting that setting foot into the cage is just a hobby. The interview comes hot on the heels of the announcement that 9ine Sports and Entertainment, a marketing firm owned by retired soccer star Ronaldo Nazario de Lima that worked with almost every major Brazilian MMA star (including Belfort, was pulling out of the UFC business due to the Reebok deal.

9ine tackled sponsorship deals for Brazilian fighters like Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Junior dos Santos and many more.

“9ine leaves the ‘UFC business’ while taking a stand as to what we believe is unfair to athletes, true warriors who make a living with MMA,” they said in a statement. “To them, we wish every success and wisdom to deal with the difficulties that lie ahead.”
