Video: Roy Jones Jr. DESTROYS MMA Fighter in Boxing Match

While Phillips isn’t a great mixed martial artist by any stretch of the imagination, Jones did a great job of showing how the broad, wide approach of mixed martial artists doesn’t really work in the boxing ring. Even though Jones had his back to the ropes for much of the fight, Phillips couldn’t get through Jones’ defense, and eventually hammered him with a right hand.

Obviously, mixed martial artists have won plenty of fights over boxers in the cage (see: James Toney, Ricardo Mayorga, Jessica Rakoczy). Boxers, though, have one to hang their hat on now.
