Well, Twitter exploded this morning with discussion that McGregor was starting to make some big, huge demands. Demands like $20 million per fight.
That might not sound like much to boxing fans since that’s a decent payday for many of the top boxers in the sport, but in MMA that’s huge. For comparison, Ronda Rousey never made anything close to $10 million during her title reign. So McGregor demanding that much is huge.
And of course, if McGregor makes $20 million per fight, why shouldn’t Ronda Rousey? And why shouldn’t Jose Aldo make more than the $3-4 million that Dana White said he was going to get? And on down the list!
Conor McGregor may have opened up a very expensive can of worms for the UFC and the UFC’s executives cannot be happy about that.
