Ortiz agrees with the beer-drinking fans that “ROUSEY GOT EXPOOOOOSED!!!1!!!12!” but insists that there was no beef. He commends Rousey for being a “true champion” and getting back into the swing of things.
That’s something of a surprise. While Ortiz says there’s no animosity with Rousey, Ortiz spent a pretty long while working as the Paul Heyman to Cris “Cyborg” Justino’s Brock Lesnar. Ortiz actively pushed for a Rousey vs. Cyborg superfight for years, never coming close to actually making the fight happen.
Along the way, Ortiz insulted the UFC, Dana White and Rousey…though much of what he said was justified.
Regardless, it’s nice to see Rousey get some support for a change! Hopefully everything goes well for her on SNL and she can get back into the Octagon in the near future.
