Mirko Cro Cop Suddenly Retires…Is It Because of Reebok Deal?

Legendary mixed martial artist and kickboxer Mirko Cro Cop announced his withdrawal from his upcoming fight at UFC: Seoul and suddenly retired Monday night. The news, like WWE star Randy Orton’s finishing move, came completely out of nowhere…and also came just a couple of weeks out from his bout.

It’s a strange turn and while he made the post on his Facebook page in his native Croation, a quick Google translate yields a fairly straightforward explanation. According to Cro Cop, he suffered a shoulder injury training for his fight in Seoul (which would have been against the unheralded Anthony Hamilton) and, 80 fights deep into his combat sports career, he is just too worn out to continue.
