In reality, Rousey isn’t making that much money fighting in the UFC. While Rousey is by far the biggest fighter in the world and while she carries a card like none other, she is still receiving humble, medium-seven-figure checks with each fight. That’s more than you or I (probably) could ever dream of…but it still isn’t that much.

Could Rousey make more, or about the same, from working in Hollywood? That’s possible, but remains to be seen. While Rousey has appeared in a few big movies already, with a big part in “The Expendables 3” and appearances in “Fast 7” and “Entourage”, it’s hard to gauge how much of that success is tied to her success in MMA.
Gina Carano went from Haywire to…this…
Gina Carano, by comparison, started out hot with the starring role in “Haywire” but things went south in a hurry, with the rest of her acting career spent on straight-to-DVD movies. She recently reemerged with a decent part in Deadpool, but the precedent is not flattering for Rousey.
For what it’s worth, Rousey said she would be back shortly after the fight. Saying and doing, though, are a bit different.
