Jon Jones Gets Slap On Wrist For Hit and Run On Pregnant Woman

MMA

All in all, it was a good day for Jones and while the UFC didn’t flat-out say “we are going to bring him back as soon as possible” we all know that’s the direction this is going in. And the timing for that couldn’t be better! UFC 192 goes down Saturday night, and is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between new champ Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson. Fans have largely rejected Cormier as champion given his relatively lopsided loss to Jones, and having Jones himself loom over the proceedings rather than just his shadow would be quite the treat.

Still, Jones’ future in fighting is a bit unclear. While there is little doubt that the UFC would like to bring him back, the NSAC has been on a bit of a power trip lately. With Jones already being the proud owner of a DUI, press conference brawl and a drug test flagged for cocaine metabolites, it’s possible he may have a bit of trouble getting re-licensed.

In all likelihood, though, a Jones return in the first half of 2016 is going to happen. If the UFC manages to get into New York and put on a show in Madison Square Garden (they booked a date in April!), look for him to try and retake his belt there.
